Struts and Struts......and again Struts

Hello all again, now 2 days has passed and 2 days of experience added to my resume as Software Engineer.

Frustrating enough that still I have learnt very little. But one single good news that I have successfully implemented the multilingual interface that my module leader wanted me to do. The application will be in more than one language and I have successfully developed the prototype with Struts. Still some work left on it, but quite commendable enough that I have done it almost with on my own, other inputs(some really valuable ones) from my Module leader was really helpful.

And the best news is that I have successfully implemented Struts. This is a big news for me. I know it is still a long way to go, but I am sure and quite confident that I have gone through it. Also I have got a new idea of making the applications run faster in out program. But the down point in this is it is going to be really long codes. But it is still in my mind, lets see how far can I go to implement this.

Today it is friday, and the weekend beacons, and it is really hard to work :) and the result....I have done just absolutely nothing today. The whole day I just enjoyed checking mails and feeling Half-Sleepy. Too bad to my career. Anyways I can afford this. Bumps in learning should come for good. :P

Also there is one bad news for me, the stocks that I invested in had just crashed to their 52 week low. And I lost about Rs. 500...:D too little but it is too big for a small time investor life me. Also a very very novice investor like me.

By the time I will finish this post it maybe around 6 PM. But time is totally wasted now. It is I call it an exploited thing, too much exploited and who is wasting it me only me. To my introduction I work in a multinational IT giant. I joined last july and after getting some really rigorous training for four and a half months I am now in so called production, a valuable asset of the company. But what I am here actually is that I am on bench. So I have almost nothing to do for the whole day. But tentatively I will be in a project, so I have one tentative PM and two tentative PAs. I get paid quite handsomely at the end of the month. But what a I doing the whole day. At the end of everyday I just completely sit back in amazement that the day has passed and yet again nothing I have done that will add up any values to me or the company. And I think who is responsible for this ? Me or the company ? And I know the perfect answer, it is me.

As soon as I have taken up my role as J2EE developer, I am presented in a project and there the management has told me to learn Hibernate, Struts and some real tough XML techniques. And I was told to install eclipse and start right away. I nodded and I really started to work right away, but what happened from that place to now my this current state has left me with a hell lot of experiences in my short 6 months of professional life.

Incompetency and unavailability is a serious problem in this IT world. What I have experienced is the same story with all the other IT people also.

The eclipse software version that was given to me had not had the features what I needed. It did not had any option of web project to run in it. So I requested an application server(as Tomcat was not in my system) and they gave me JBoss. I was very happy and I started to start my try and testing. But what I got that I was still unable to start a single web project. And the reason ? The new version of eclipse (that they said) was to be configured in a different way. (which I myself learned later was XDocket) But to my surprise nobody absolutely nobody knows how to start a new web project in eclipse. And also nobody knows XDocket also. I tried the tutorials myself and learnt a little, but it was still a long way to go for me. And I am still in the process of learning of how to configure a simple software in a complex way in the corporate environment. So at the end of everyday I fell frustrated and really bad about myself.

I don't want to be in this life, and what I want to is to learn a lot of technologies . Also I want my superiors to be a bit more serious of the project and also to learn simple things in a simple way.

My company recruits about 10000+ peoples every year. But at the end of the year 45% of them are in bench doing what ??? Reading mails, chatting, surfing net, etc. etc.

I have seen many of my friends they just love to be in project and when they are they have just stopped their minds from learning anything more. They stick to those old things again and again, they never goes in the other way of making thing things more efficient.

Anyways I am trying to learn, and in this blog of mine I will show to me the updates.

Ok, here I start. Now to be a bit formal with you, I am giving a short introduction of myself. I am Victor Sinha, 21 yrs by age and currently working as a Software Engineer in Infosys. Now I have long tried to write down some short things of myself which I could never did successfully. Here in this blog I am making a bold effort of saying the truth about my life and sharing my experiences with you all.
